Tackling Power Cuts (Ups)

The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) has become common household equipment as it can supply electric power to any other household devise(s) under the occurrence of a power cut for a short period of approximately 15 minutes. The major advantage of a UPS is that it gives an immediate power supply when the actual power suddenly fails hence it comes in handy for devices that get damaged under the circumstance of a sudden power cut like the personal computer. The UPS is a converter-inverter pair, i.e. it converts AC power to DC and stores it in battery banks; and is again converted back into AC power as and when required.
