Medicare Enrolment

Medicare Part D services have to be enrolled in a Medical Prescription Drug Plan that is separate from Medicare Advantage Plans offered by Medicare Supplemental Insurance services. In this case, an individual must have both Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B services benefits and it is expected that the person should reside in the service area that the plan is executed. When a person becomes eligible for Medicare, he can also get enrolled in the prescription drug plan. That is, if you are going to be 65 years of age today, then you should register before 3 months of your birthday or ever after 3 months. But, make sure that you have registered at the earliest. In some cases, if you had to receiver Medicare because of disability, you will have to register before 3 months when the disability period is about to reach 25 months. Same way you can also do this after 3 months of the same. Every year, between 15th November and 31st December you can enroll in drug prescription plan if you have missed to get enrolled before. You will also have to pay some penalty if you enroll late for the plan when you are eligible. And, this penalty might result in higher Premiums.
